Prevention, planning, and organisation of the healthcare system

The challenges that the public health faces are complex and continuously influenced by social, economic, and technological developments, whether we are talking pandemics or social challenges like inequity.

The science of public health gives you an evidence-based foundation for both practical work and research. Working with well-founded methodological practices, you will learn how to gather and analyse data concerning the health status of different population groups, as well as how to recommend and evaluate health-promoting initiatives.

Research as the basis for improvement – from epidemiology to patient security

The programmes and courses found within the field of public health science all work with innovative approaches to well-known, current practices and problems that you can use in your daily work. You will learn how to critically approach public health research, and gain competencies working within areas such as health and society, intersectoral co-operation, prevention and health-promoting initiatives, patient security, health economy, the organisation and management of the healthcare system, epidemiology, biostatistics, and qualitative methods.

The courses are constructed in a multidisciplinary fashion that ensures relevant topics and practical knowledge about public health issues from multiple perspectives.

I think it’s fascinating to focus on public health, on populations and groups, rather than the individual’s medical conditions. You get this professional expertise that enables you to approach the healthcare system in an overarching and strategic way.
