Water in cities
Water is and has always been a valuable resource. However, in the light of climate change, which causes increasingly heavy rainfall and severe weather, water can also have negative impacts such as floodings. On a course in hydrology, you can zoom in on climate change in Denmark, cities’ challenges and climate adaptation strategies. You will learn how to analyse terrain and make proposals for green rainwater management systems within local rainwater harvesting.You can also learn how to use hydrological models to study the effects of climate change on water resources.
Water in nature
Through field samples, laboratory analyses and experiments, you will be equipped to use concrete methods for studying the water and habitat quality in Danish lakes and streams, and measure environmental key parameters as well as the biodiversity of different groups of aquatic organisms at selected locations. Finally, you can also learn about environmental planning, management and legislation with special focus on the aquatic environment.
