EU VAT Kick-Off 2026
This course is a part of

This one-day seminar covers the latest updates on European Union Value Added Tax (VAT) rulings from the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). During the seminar, the lecturers will review all VAT cases decided by the CJEU in 2025, as well as cases that are still ongoing.
Assistant Professor Marta Papis-Almansa and Tax Advisor Paweł Mikuła will provide both academic insights and practical perspectives. They will discuss the key trends in CJEU decisions, focusing on the most significant issues and clarifications. Additionally, they will explore how these rulings affect current and future VAT practices and policies.
The participants in the seminar will receive:
- A list of all VAT-related cases decided in 2025 by the CJEU, along with the operative parts of the judgments.
- A list of all pending VAT cases currently before the Court with the questions referred by domestic courts.
- Presentation slides to support and enhance the discussions.
- In addition, registration for the seminar includes access to our news and updates on the latest CJEU judgments, pending cases, and Advocate General opinions in VAT matters.
As an experienced tax lawyer practicing VAT law internationally, participating in the EU VAT Kick-Off 2025 was extremely fruitful in that I afterwards had a complete overview and basic knowledge of all judgements from the CJEU in 2024 and all the pending VAT cases. The best update event on EU VAT case law I have ever attended.
This event gives you a great opportunity to fresh up your memory of the VAT cases decided by the CJEU in the past year. Marta and Paweł also provide sharp analyses of each case which can give you new perspectives on the conclusions of the cases.
