Content
The course introduces the participants to visualization: the use of interactive visual representations to help people understand and analyze data.
Participants will learn about the theoretical basis of information visualization and techniques to visually represent different types of data and to support different tasks. Students will through a practical problem-driven approach learn how to analyze, design and build visualizations. Through weekly exercises, the course will provide practical experience in creating interactive visualizations for online publication.
Prerequisites
Programming skills corresponding to an introductory programming course. Computer graphics experience is an advantage, but is not necessary.
Practical information
The course is offered as a single-subject course at the Faculty of Science. Single-subject courses typically run for seven to nine weeks with scheduled activities approx. one day per week.
You will be attending the course together with full-time students from the Faculty of Science, and you must meet various admission requirements. The course ends with an exam.
The number of places is limited, and they are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so do not delay your application!
