Single subject courses at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
You can apply for admission to single subject courses within selected bachelor's and master's programs at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH.
As a guest student you are required to pay tuition fees for the courses you take at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
Courses offered by the faculty are held during the day, and you will attend classes along with students studying full-time bachelor’s or master’s programmes.
You may apply for admission to selected bachelor’s and master’s courses at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.
You may apply for admission in courses as long as you meet the admission requirements. Meeting the requirements does not a guarantee admission which is also dependent on availability.
- Find the faculty's single subject courses in the University of Copenhagen's course catalogue.
- Select 'Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences' as faculty.
To narrow down your search, you can filter by level (e.g., bachelor or master) or search for the institute offering the course.
Please note:
- You can only take bachelor's and master's courses as a single subject student.
- You cannot obtain a bachelor's or master's degree through single subject courses.
- You can take a maximum of half of a degree through single subject courses, i.e., 90 ECTS for a bachelor's program and 60 ECTS for a master's program.
- You cannot be admitted to a single subject course if you are concurrently enrolled or on leave from the same program as a full-time student.
- Not all courses at the faculty are offered as single subject courses. Within odontology, veterinary medicine and medicine only a few elective courses are open to single subject students.
- You cannot enrol in a bachelor’s project or master’s thesis because you are not allowed to earn a bachelor’s or master’s degree as a guest student.

It is not possible to apply passed the deadline.

Please use the online application forms below to apply. You must upload all relevant documents in connection with your application.
You may expect an answer to your application about a month after the application deadline, after which we will send an invoice to the address you indicated in the application. Please note that you are not enrolled in the course until the course fee has been paid.
You must pay tuition fees in order to enroll in single courses.

To apply for admission to single subject courses, you must:
- have completed an education that meets the requirements
- meet the academic requirements for the specific course
- meet the language requirements
Education requirements:
Enrolment in courses offered under bachelor’s programmes requires a high school diploma equivalent to the Danish upper secondary certificates.
Enrolment in courses offered under master’s programmes requires that you have earned a completed relevant bachelor’s degree.

English
You must have a standard of English equivalent to level B in Danish secondary education.
You can document your English language proficiency in one of the following ways:
Native English language
Native English speakers from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK or Ireland may submit a copy of the page of their passport that has their photograph as proof.
Diploma from a Nordic university
Nordic applicants can demonstrate their English proficiency by submitting a certified copy of a high school diploma proving that they have passed English level B or by submitting a certified copy of a bachelor's or master’s diploma from a Nordic university.
Degree from an English speaking country
Applicants who have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK or Ireland can demonstrate their English proficiency by submitting a certified copy of their degree certificate if their degree was taught in English. A semester or year spent on a student exchange programme is not sufficient.
English language proficiency test
Applicants can demonstrate their English proficiency if they have passed a recognised English language proficiency test with an adequate score. We accept the following tests:

ELTS and TOEFL tests older than 2 years will not be accepted (counted from the programme application deadline). The Cambridge Assessment English may have been gained at any time.
If you wish to take a course at MSc level as a Ph.D.-student at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, you must apply using the electronic application form under ‘When and how do I apply for single subject courses?’
Please note that you will receive an invoice by Digital Post (E-boks) for the full course fee, which you must pay in order to enroll in the course. Following your enrollment in the course, you can choose to apply for reimbursement of the course fee. Read more about this option at the Graduate School web site.
